Faux History

Back in 1954 failed inventor & entrepreneur Gabriel Gucci Versace was en-route to meet with a potential investor in Basking Ridge with hopes that his concept Cornball Fryer would be sold in department stores all across the North East. As the road was blocked off from falling boulders from a blast gone wrong at Chimney Rock Quarry, Ol' Gabe took it upon himself to take some back trails to make it up the mountain. That is where he crashed his 1941 International Harvester Truck a few hundred feet from Washington Valley Rd and it has been abandoned there ever since. Missing his appointment with his investor, he stumbled upon an abandoned creamery that he squatted in for the night. Finding some overly fermented curds and whey, Ol’ Gabe took one swig that knocked him out into La-La-land. He dreamt a dream of dancing ice cream cones & burgers within the Victorian castle. Upon waking up he heard a still voice say to him, “If You Build It They Will Come!” Six months later Gabriel hosted the grand opening of Gabriel’s Fountain Kitchen & Creamery providing community hub for friends and families to meet up for Well Crafted Food & Homemade Artisan Ice Cream. Over 60 years later we find ourselves here still carrying out Ol’ Gabe’s Vision & Dream while his old rust-bucket of a truck still sits out back!
